The Apple III is a business-oriented personal computer by Apple Computers that was intended as a successor to the Apple II series but rather became a close cousin. Yet, the Apple III was largely considered a failure in the market since it had stability issues that required re-design.

The features of the Apple III were geared towards what business users wanted in a personal computers, including a true typewriter-style upper/lowercase keyboard and a 80 column display. The Apple III was the first was the first Apple product that allowed the user to choose both a screen font and keyboard layout: either QWERTY or DVORAK.
