Digital Equipment Corporation developed the COMPUTER LAB as a training device to teach basic concepts, theory, and operations of digital computers. The COMPUTER LAB was a complete educational package, as it came with a patch-cord panel, over 100 taper-pin patch-cords of assorted colors and lengths, a student workbook filled with step-by-step instructions to experiments, and a teacher’s guide for all the lessons. The COMPUTER LAB assists the student in mastering the basics of the binary number systems (machine language), gates and switches, two state memory devices, and Boolean algebra.
